Abstract

This study aims to explore the public's digital communication patterns on political issues raised in the Bocor Alus Politik program by Tempo.co, especially on the video titled “Jokowi's Dismissal and Prabowo's Plan to Restore Pilkada Through DPRD.” Through comment analysis using Communalytic.org, this research identifies temporal patterns, the distribution of main poster dominance, the use of emotion symbols (emoji), and the level of discussion toxicity. The research used big data-based content analysis methods with a focus on the 100 most frequently used words and emojis, as well as temporal trends in the comments. The main findings showed a significant spike in activity on December 21, 2024, reflecting the public response to the viral issue. Emojis such as ?, ❤️, and ? were used intensely to express emotions in the discussion, while toxicity levels increased on the same day, indicating polarization of the discussion on sensitive issues. In addition, the findings show that there are 1888 actors (nodes) and 42 relationships (edges) from the results of the social network analysis of actors with 4 clusters of orange, red, green and purple. This research makes a significant contribution to digital literacy, especially in understanding the dynamics of political communication on social media and its impact on public engagement. The findings also offer important insights for content moderation strategies and the establishment of inclusive digital discussion spaces.
