Author Guidelines

All manuscripts submitted to eL Bidayah: Journal of Islamic Elementary Education must follow the procedure below:

  1. The manuscript should be typed in Times New Roman font, 12-point size, double-spaced, printed on A4 paper of approximately 20 pages in length, and submitted in the form of a print-out of 1 copy along with the file. If there is a verse or hadith (Arabic writing), it is typed in Traditional Arabic letters, size 14 points, files are made with Microsoft Word. Files are submitted via http://ejournal.iai-tribakti.ac.id/index.php/pgmi or can be done as an e-mail attachment to the address: ejournal.elbidayah@gmail.com
  2. The names of the authors of the article are listed without academic titles and placed below the title of the article. The author's affiliation name and email are placed below the author's name in sequence (author, affiliation, email).
  3. Articles are written in Indonesian or English in essay format, with a title for each section of the article. The title of the article is printed in large letters in the center, with a font size of 12 points. Section title rankings are expressed in different fonts (all section titles and sub-sections are bold or bold and italicized), and no numbers are used in section titles:

                  Rank 1 (Uppercase Small, Bold, Left Justified)

                  Rank 2 (Small Uppercase, Bold Italic, Left Justified)

                  Rank 3 (Small Uppercase, Left Edge)

  1. The systematics of writing a thought-provoking article are the title of the article, author's name (without academic degree), abstract (in English), keywords, introduction, discussion (description/content of the article), conclusion, and bibliography.
  2. Reference sources (endnotes) should be literature published in the last 10 years. Preferred references are primary sources in the form of research reports or articles (scientific works) in scientific journals and/or magazines.
  3. References and citations use footnote referencing techniques using Zotero or Mendeley applications and use the Chicago Manual of Style 17th Edition model (fullnote).
  4. All manuscripts are reviewed anonymously by expert editors (bestiary partners) appointed by the editor according to their field of expertise. Authors of articles are allowed to make improvements to the manuscript based on recommendations from bestiary partners or editors.
  5. Authors receive proof of loading of 2 (two) copies and 2 (two) copies of loose print. Manuscripts that are not published will not be returned, except at the request of the author.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • The text is 1,5 spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.

In submitting the manuscript to the journal, the authors certify that:

  • They are authorized by their co-authors to enter into these arrangements.
  • The work described has not been formally published before, except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture, review, thesis, or overlay journal.
  • That it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere,
  • That its publication has been approved by all the author(s) and by the responsible authorities – tacitly or explicitly – of the institutes where the work has been carried out.
  • They secure the right to reproduce any material that has already been published or copyrighted elsewhere.
  • They agree to the following license and copyright agreement.

Copyright
Authors who publish with El Bidayah:Journal of Islamic Elementary Education agree to the following terms:

  • Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY-SA 4.0) that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
  • Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal.
  • Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their website) before and during the submission process, as it can lead to productive exchanges, as well as earlier and greater citation of published work.

Licensing for Data Publication
El Bidayah: Journal of Islamic Elementary Education uses a variety of waivers and licenses, that are specifically designed for and appropriate for the treatment of data:

Other data publishing licenses may be allowed as exceptions (subject to approval by the editor on a case-by-case basis) and should be justified with a written statement from the author, which will be published with the article.

Open Data and Software Publishing and Sharing
The journal strives to maximize the replicability of the research published in it. Authors are thus required to share all data, code, or protocols underlying the research reported in their articles. Exceptions are permitted but have to be justified in a written public statement accompanying the article.
Datasets and software should be deposited and permanently archived in appropriate, trusted, general, or domain-specific repositories (please consult http://service.re3data.org and/or software repositories such as GitHub, GitLab, Bioinformatics.org, or equivalent). The associated persistent identifiers (e.g. DOI, or others) of the dataset(s) must be included in the data or software resources section of the article. Reference(s) to datasets and software should also be included in the reference list of the article with DOIs (where available). Where no domain-specific data repository exists, authors should deposit their datasets in a general repository such as ZENODO, Dryad, Dataverse, or others.
Small data may also be published as data files or packages supplementary to a research article, however, the authors should prefer in all cases a deposition in data repositories.
