Reviewer Guidelines
The quality of a journal depends on the quality of the published material. To improve the quality of journal publications, we respectfully invite experts to be the reviewer of Journal An-Nafs: Kajian Penelitian Psikologi.
When conducting the review, the reviewer should pay attention to the following:
A. Scope - Is the article in line with the focus and scope of the journal?
B. Originality -Does the paper contain new and significant information adequate to justify publication?
C. Structure:
- Abstract and Title: Does it clearly describe the manuscript/article?
- Concerning the introduction:
- The introduction should provide adequate information about the research background.
- The study's background should identify a research gap.
- The literature review should provide relevant theories to guide and promote comprehension of the research question(s).
- The novelty of the research should be described clearly.
- Concerning the methodology:
- The method should provide identification of the research variables, subjects, instruments, and analysis techniques.
- Does the author accurately explain how the data was collected?
- Is the design suitable for answering the question posed?
- The method should thoroughly cover all procedures (how to conduct the research should be described).
- Concerning the result:
- How well are the paper's original objectives achieved?
- Consider if the appropriate analysis has been conducted. Are the statistics correct?
- Interpretation of results should not be included in this section.
- The tables/graphs/figures should be meaningful and easily understood to assist the readers in conceiving the analysis.
- Concerning the discussion:
- The authors should critically explore the research findings.
- Does the author explain how the findings are related to the previous studies and the relevance of literature/sources?
- Does the author present a substantial interpretation of the analysis results and comparison with previous studies based on a review of relevant, the most recent, and the main literature of the past ten years?
- This section should not repeat the introduction and results section.
- The implications of the research should be described in this section.
- The strengths and limitations of the study must be addressed.
- Concerning the conclusion:
- This section is a summary of the research findings.
- The conclusion should be presented in a short, clear, and concise manner based on research findings and discussion.
- The conclusion must answer the research objectives.
- This section must be written in a paragraph (not numerical or bullet points).
- It should state the findings’ synthesis concluded from data analysis and discussion.
- The authors should explain the research contribution to psychology development as a science.
D. Presentation
- Language: If the quality of English makes it difficult to understand the author’s argument, it should be mentioned as a part of the review.
- Tables and Figures: Do the figures and tables inform the reader? Are they an essential part of the papers? Do the figures describe the data accurately? Are they consistent? (e.g., bars in charts are the same width).
- Writing: Is the writing concise and easy to follow?
- Length: Which part(s) of the manuscript should be elaborated/ removed /shortened?
